Indore: A series of house break-ins in Bada Undwa village of Alirajpur district has left residents worried after thieves targeted three houses on Saturday night and escaped with gold ornaments, around 7 kg of silver and more than Rs 1 lakh in cash.
The thefts were reported from Dhorakua Faliya and Bamni Faliya. According to preliminary information, the thieves gained entry into three houses during late-night hours and searched the premises before making away with cash and jewellery.
The exact value of the stolen property is yet to be assessed, but villagers said the stolen items included a substantial quantity of silver ornaments, gold jewellery and cash exceeding Rs 1 lakh.
The incident came to light on Sunday morning when family members discovered that valuables were missing from their homes. News of the thefts quickly spread through the village, prompting residents to discuss the security situation. Villagers later approached Kotwali police station and lodged a formal complaint regarding the thefts.
Police officials visited the affected houses and began collecting information related to the thefts. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
