Karnataka Police Nab Three Long-Absconding Accused in Coordinated Operations

In a significant crackdown on fugitives, Karnataka police have successfully arrested three individuals who had been evading court proceedings for extended periods in separate cases across the state. The operations highlight law enforcement's persistent efforts to bring long-absconding accused to justice.

Puttur Case: Accused Arrested After Violating Bail Conditions

A 36-year-old man from Malappuram, Kerala, identified as Nikhil K, was arrested by a police team from Puttur Town police station. He had been absconding after failing to appear before the court in connection with an earlier case registered under Sections 323, 504, 506, 406, and 424 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The arrest was made on Saturday from Kollegal taluk in Chamarajanagar district by a team led by Sub-Inspector Janardhan KM. It is reported that Nikhil had initially secured conditional bail but later violated the conditions by not attending court hearings. Following his arrest, he was produced before the court, and a fresh case has been registered against him at Puttur Town police station under Section 269 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.

Sullia Case: Decade-Long Fugitive Apprehended in Uttar Pradesh

In a separate operation, Sullia police station staff arrested an accused who had been absconding for nearly ten years in connection with a ganja peddling case. The accused, identified as Naseem from Uttar Pradesh, was involved in a case registered under Sections 8(c) read with 20(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Naseem had been evading court proceedings for about a decade, making his arrest a notable achievement for the police. A dedicated team comprising Head Constable Ramesh L, Raju Naik D, and Vikhyath J Gowda traced and arrested the accused on March 20 from Ghajipur in Uttar Pradesh. He has since been produced before the Sullia court, marking the end of a long-pending case.

Malpe Case: Warrant Accused Captured After 15 Years in Bengaluru

Malpe police have arrested another absconding warrant accused who had been evading court proceedings for nearly fifteen years. The accused, Zubair, 42, a resident of Paduthonse village in Udupi, was wanted in several cases registered in the Udupi district.

Acting under the guidance of the Udupi sub-division DSP and the Circle Inspector of Malpe, a specialized team was formed led by Malpe Police Station Sub-Inspector (Law & Order) Anil Kumar D. The team successfully arrested Zubair from Shivajinagar in Bengaluru on Sunday, and he was produced before the court on Monday, bringing closure to multiple long-standing cases.

Implications and Ongoing Investigations

These arrests underscore the Karnataka police's commitment to tracking down individuals who attempt to evade the judicial process. The use of coordinated teams and cross-state operations demonstrates an enhanced approach to law enforcement in the region.

Authorities emphasize that such actions serve as a deterrent to others who might consider absconding. All three cases remain under active investigation, with police officials working to ensure that justice is served promptly and effectively. The public is encouraged to report any information on fugitives to assist in similar operations.
