Three Arrested for Gold Chain Robbery in Pune

Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad crime branch on Saturday arrested three men for allegedly robbing a land developer of his gold chain worth Rs 4 lakh near Alandi on June 9.

The police recovered the stolen chain and a car from the accused — Vaishnav Kadam (20), Sachin Kadam (42), and Vijay Kadam (33) — residents of Nirgudi village in Haveli taluka. A crime branch team led by inspector Sanjay Chavan arrested the trio based on a tip-off to constable Amar Kadam.

On the night of June 9, the land developer and his two friends were returning home after dinner when two men on a motorcycle attacked him and snatched his gold chain. A case of robbery was registered with the Alandi police.

The team examined more than 20 CCTV camera recordings from the area and alerted informers. One of them tipped off constable Kadam. “We laid a trap and arrested them on Saturday,” Chavan said. The trio robbed him for money. “Further investigations are underway,” the officer added.

Recovery and Investigation

The stolen gold chain and a car used in the crime were recovered from the accused. The police are investigating if the trio was involved in similar crimes in the area.
