Three individuals have been arrested for allegedly attempting to rob a man at knifepoint near Sector 55 in Chandigarh. The incident took place on Monday, according to police reports.
Details of the Incident
The complainant, Kuldeep Chand Bhardwaj, a resident of Badheri (Sector 41-A), reported that the accused—identified as Abhay alias Abu, Abhishek, and Ashok, all residents of Badheri—tried to snatch his mobile phone. The trio was riding an Activa scooter (registration number CH01CS8947) when they intercepted Bhardwaj near Vishkarma Mandir and attempted the robbery.
Police Action
Police officials confirmed that the suspects were arrested during the subsequent investigation. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are conducting further inquiries to ascertain if the accused were involved in similar crimes in the area.
