In a shocking incident in Tuticorin, three individuals were arrested after a machete attack left four people injured near the Mottai Gopuram area in Swami Vivekanandar Colony on Friday night. The accused were identified as Kanishkar Prabhu, 25, Senthil Kumar, 50, and Lakshmi, all residents of Tuticorin. They were taken into custody on Saturday.

Details of the Attack

The injured victims include Ashok, 29, Ajay, 22, Poosari, 58, and his son Viji, 32. According to police reports, the altercation began around 11 pm on Friday when two groups of neighbors engaged in a heated verbal argument over a business-related matter. The situation escalated when Lakshmi allegedly instigated Kanishkar and Kumar to attack Ashok, Ajay, and Poosari with machetes. During the assault, Viji sustained injuries after he attempted to flee and fell onto the road.

Medical Response and Investigation

All four injured individuals were immediately rushed to the Tuticorin Government Medical College Hospital for treatment. The Thalamuthunagar police have registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation into the incident. Authorities are examining the circumstances that led to the violent confrontation and are collecting evidence from the scene.
