During this initial confrontation, the victim identified as Mhathung Lotha of Yimpang village in Wokha district and his accomplice were severely beaten by a group of individuals.
The situation escalated further on November 10 when the perpetrators, under the false pretext of resolving the previous day's conflict, forced both victims to come to the accused's home. What was presented as a peace-making opportunity turned into another brutal assault session, leaving both men with critical injuries.
Medical Treatment and Tragic Outcome
Following the second beating, the seriously injured Mhathung Lotha was rushed to district hospital Dimapur for emergency medical treatment. Despite receiving care, his condition deteriorated, and he was eventually transferred to civil hospital Dimapur, where he tragically died on Wednesday.
