Three Men Arrested in Gandhinagar for Firing and Assault Over Property Dispute

In a significant development, the Gandhinagar Sector 7 police have arrested three individuals in connection with a violent incident involving a shooting and assault over a property dispute. The arrests were made on Tuesday, following the attack that occurred on Monday, highlighting the swift action taken by law enforcement to address the crime.

Details of the Incident and Arrests

The accused have been identified as Jitendra Rathod of Unava, along with his accomplices Mahendrasinh Jadeja and Mitesh Desai, both residents of Vavol. They were apprehended for allegedly firing at Pradipsinh Jadeja, a Gandhinagar resident, during a confrontation related to a financial disagreement over a property transaction.

According to a complaint filed by Atulkumar Darji, a 60-year-old resident of Sector 27, the dispute originated approximately two years ago when Rathod purchased a house in Sector 3. Rathod paid Rs 20 lakh to Pradipsinh and Darji, but later discovered a claim on the property, leading him to demand a refund of the money.

Escalation of the Conflict

Darji stated in his complaint that he was at his office when Rathod visited his home to demand the owed funds. Rathod, accompanied by Mahendrasinh and Desai, then proceeded to Darji's office. Instead of the original Rs 20 lakh, they began demanding Rs 50 lakh, escalating the tension significantly.

In response, Darji called Pradipsinh, who arrived at the scene with a friend. Upon their arrival, Desai allegedly fired his pistol three times, striking Pradipsinh in the stomach. The assailants also threatened Darji with a knife and physically assaulted him, adding to the severity of the incident.

Police Investigation and Legal Charges

The Gandhinagar Sector 7 Police have registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Section 109 for attempt to murder, Section 140(2) for kidnapping with threat to cause death, and Section 352 for intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace. Additionally, charges under the Arms Act have been filed due to the use of a firearm during the attack.

Inspector Bharat Goyal provided insights into the investigation, noting that two separate teams from the Local Crime Branch were formed to handle the case. The Sector 7 police station surveillance team initiated a thorough probe, utilizing CCTV footage and information from local informants to track down the suspects.

Arrest and Ongoing Proceedings

Acting on this information, police teams intercepted and arrested the suspects, bringing them into custody for further legal proceedings.

This arrest underscores the commitment of the Gandhinagar police to maintaining public safety and addressing violent crimes promptly. The case continues to be under investigation as authorities work to gather additional evidence and ensure justice is served for the victims involved.
