Three arrested in Tuticorin machete attack injuring four

In Tuticorin, three suspects were arrested following a violent machete attack that left four people injured near Mottai Gopuram in Swami Vivekanandar Colony on Friday.

Arrests Made

The police apprehended Kanishkar Prabhu, 25, Senthil Kumar, 50, and Lakshmi of Tuticorin on Saturday. The injured individuals have been identified as Ashok, 29, Ajay, 22, Poosari, 58, and his son Viji, 32.

Incident Details

According to authorities, around 11 pm on Friday, two groups of neighbors engaged in a verbal altercation over a business-related issue. During the quarrel, Lakshmi allegedly incited Kanishkar and Kumar to attack Ashok, Ajay, and Poosari with machetes. Viji sustained injuries after falling on the road while trying to escape the assault.

The injured were rushed to the Tuticorin Government Medical College Hospital for treatment. The Thalamuthunagar police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations into the matter.
