A devastating road accident occurred near New Tirupur on Tuesday morning, resulting in the deaths of three individuals. The victims included two employees from a coconut oil manufacturing company based in Perunthurai, Erode district.

Details of the Fatal Collision

According to police reports, the incident took place when a rental car, traveling from Coimbatore to Erode, collided with a truck. The car was being driven by Ranjith, 30, from Perundurai, who lost control of the vehicle near New Tirupur. This loss of control led to the car hitting a truck that was in front of it.

The immediate impact proved fatal for two passengers: Manivannan, 50, from Ramanathapuram in Coimbatore, and Rakesh, 41, from Kerala. Both were employees of the coconut oil firm and succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Police Response and Medical Efforts

Other motorists on the stretch promptly informed the Perumanallur police, who arrived at the site to manage the situation. The police recovered the bodies and sent them to the Tirupur Medical College and Hospital for postmortem examinations.

The driver, Ranjith, sustained severe injuries in the crash and was rushed to a private hospital in Tirupur for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, he did not respond to treatment and passed away in the evening.
