Three Killed in West Champaran Motorcycle Collision, One Critically Injured
A devastating head-on collision between two speeding motorcycles near the Athaees Lakkha bridge on Sainik Road in West Champaran district has claimed three lives and left one person in critical condition. The tragic incident occurred on Thursday evening under the jurisdiction of the Sikta police station, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Details of the Fatal Crash
The accident involved two motorcycles that collided with tremendous force while traveling at high speeds. According to eyewitness accounts and preliminary police reports, none of the riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, which significantly contributed to the severity of injuries sustained.
The victims from one motorcycle have been identified as:
- Faiyaz, also known as Ghongha Mian (60 years old)
- His son Neyaz, also known as Miththu Mian (30 years old)
Both were residents of Gad Gamhariya village under the Kangali police station area.
The other motorcycle carried:
- Kamrul (40 years old)
- Armaan Mian (25 years old)
These individuals hailed from Biswa village in the Parsa district of Nepal. Tragically, Armaan Mian lost his life in the accident, while Kamrul sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing medical treatment.
Immediate Aftermath and Police Response
The impact of the collision was described by local residents as extremely severe, with one person pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional victims succumbed to their injuries while being transported to medical facilities for emergency care.
Sikta Station House Officer Nitish Kumar Maurya provided details about the police response, stating that authorities received notification of the incident through the Dial 112 emergency service system. "A police team rushed to the spot immediately upon receiving the alert," Maurya explained. "The injured were quickly shifted to the Sikta community health centre, where a medical professional declared three individuals deceased. The critically injured survivor was subsequently referred to GMCH Bettiah for advanced treatment. We have initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident."
