Dhanbad Police Arrest Three Aides of Gangster Prince Khan in Early Morning Encounter
In a significant crackdown on organized crime, Dhanbad police arrested three aides of notorious gangster Prince Khan following a brief but intense gunfight in the Bhaga Bandh Outpost area under Kenduadih police station limits on Monday morning. The operation, which unfolded around 4 am, resulted in two of the arrested individuals sustaining bullet injuries, while another was injured during the confrontation.
Details of the Arrested Individuals
The arrested men have been identified as:
- Aman Singh alias Kuber (22) from Palamu
- Vicky Dom (40) from Dhanbad
- Afzal Aman (30) from Dhanbad
All three were promptly admitted to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Meanwhile, three other members of the criminal gang managed to evade capture and flee the scene during the chaos of the encounter.
Police Operation Based on Technical Surveillance
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar revealed that the raid was meticulously planned and executed based on technical surveillance and actionable intelligence inputs coordinated between police teams from Ranchi and Dhanbad. A joint police team conducted the raid on Kenduadih Basti after receiving credible information about the presence of armed criminals in the area.
"As our officers approached the suspected hideout, the criminals opened fire in a desperate attempt to escape. Our personnel retaliated in self-defence, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire," stated SSP Kumar. He emphasized that the operation was conducted with precision to minimize collateral damage while ensuring the apprehension of the suspects.
Connection to Recent Ranchi Firing Incident
SSP Kumar further disclosed that the injured criminals are suspected to be linked to a recent firing incident in Ranchi. "The Ranchi Police developed crucial leads during their investigation, which enabled us to track and locate these individuals in Dhanbad," he explained. This cross-district collaboration highlights the coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat interlinked criminal networks.
Financial Investigations Uncover 60 Bank Accounts
In a related development, police investigations have uncovered approximately 60 bank accounts that were allegedly used for financial transactions linked to the gang. This discovery points to the sophisticated financial operations of the criminal network, which authorities are now scrutinizing to dismantle their economic infrastructure.
Second Major Action Against the Gang Within a Week
Notably, this encounter marks the second major police action against Prince Khan's gang within just one week. On March 8, in a separate encounter in the Saraidhela police station area, criminal Sudish Ojha (36) was injured, while his associate Dilip Singh (40) was arrested. These consecutive operations demonstrate a sustained and intensified crackdown on the gang's activities across the region.
The Dhanbad police have reiterated their commitment to eradicating organized crime and ensuring public safety through proactive measures and intelligence-driven operations. Further investigations are underway to apprehend the remaining fugitives and uncover the full extent of the gang's criminal enterprises.
