Three Held for Toll Booth Assault in Noida Convoy Incident

Noida: Three men were arrested on Friday for assaulting a toll booth employee at Luharli toll plaza on NH-91, where a 35-vehicle convoy accompanying a history-sheeter released from Bulandshahr jail had refused to pay toll and broken through the lanes on June 10 night.

Incident Details

When toll employee Lokman and his colleagues tried to stop the convoy, a fight broke out. Lokman sustained serious head injuries and collapsed at the scene.

Arrests and Recovery

Acting on intelligence, a team from Dadri police arrested Karan Yadav, Saurabh and Akash, all residents of Wave City in Ghaziabad, from Kot village. Police said the three assaulted and threatened Lokman and also destroyed the toll barrier.

Four vehicles, including two black Scorpios and a black Thar without number plates and a white Brezza bearing UP registration, which were part of the convoy were recovered based on disclosures by the accused.

Legal Proceedings

A case was registered at Dadri police station on a complaint filed by the toll plaza manager. Further investigation is underway to identify and arrest others involved in the incident, police said.
