Three Detained in Connection with Brutal Murder of Youth in Godda Village
In a shocking incident in Jharkhand, three individuals have been taken into custody following the fatal beating of a 25-year-old man in Godda district. Victim Identified as BEd Student Returning from Gwalior
The deceased has been identified as Niraj Kumar, a 25-year-old who had recently returned to his hometown in Godda after completing his BEd examinations in Gwalior. According to authorities, the incident unfolded around midnight when an emergency call was made to helpline 112, reporting that Niraj had allegedly entered the accused's residence and was apprehended.
Upon receiving the tip-off, officers from the Pathargama police station swiftly responded to the scene. They discovered Niraj in a critically injured state inside the accused's home and immediately transported him to the local Community Health Centre. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries while being transferred to a higher medical facility for advanced treatment.
Police Investigation Reveals Gruesome Details
Assistant Sub-Inspector Bharat Yadav provided harrowing details from the investigation, stating, "The victim was still alive when he was rescued and told us he was hit by a hammer on the head after his hands and legs were tied up." Police have also recovered a rope from the crime scene, which is believed to have been used in the assault, adding to the evidence collected.
In a contrasting account, the victim's elder brother, Ranjit, has come forward with allegations that challenge the initial police narrative. He claims that Niraj was forcibly taken from their home by the accused and did not go to the location voluntarily. Ranjit further emphasized that there has been a persistent dispute between the two families, which had been reported to the police on multiple occasions in the past.

Ranjit expressed frustration over what he perceives as police negligence, telling the media, "I lodged an FIR against the accused persons after they assaulted me on Holi. But police didn't take any action this time also, as in the case of previous incidents reported to the police." Niraj Kumar is survived by his parents, an elder brother, and a sister, leaving the family in mourning.
