Three Men Fatally Stabbed by Relatives at Wedding in Dhule, Maharashtra

In a shocking incident, three men were stabbed to death by their relatives during a wedding ceremony in Pimpalner village of Dhule's Sakri taluka on Thursday, according to Dhule superintendent of police Shrikant Dhivre. The tragic event unfolded around 2.30pm when family members had gathered for the celebrations, turning a joyous occasion into a scene of violence.

Details of the Deceased and the Attack

The deceased have been identified as Suresh Gosavi (50), Devendra Pawar (36), and Sahil Gosavi (35), all residents of Sakri town. SP Dhivre explained that the accused allegedly initiated a quarrel with some relatives over a previous issue, leading to heated arguments. This escalated into a violent attack where three individuals used sharp-edged weapons against anyone who confronted them, resulting in the deaths of the three men.

Immediate Aftermath and Police Response

Another senior officer from the Pimpalner police station reported that the accused fled the scene in a car immediately after the incident. Local residents and relatives quickly alerted the police and transported the injured to a private hospital, where the three men were declared dead. Two other injured individuals were taken to GMCH in Dhule, where their condition is described as serious.

Manhunt and Arrest of the Accused

During the primary investigation, authorities learned that the accused were from Surat in Gujarat and were attempting to flee back to that state. Police enlisted the help of local residents in Otabari village, located along the Maharashtra-Gujarat border, to assist in apprehending the culprits. The locals obstructed the road, causing a traffic jam that allowed police to reach and detain the suspects.

The accused have been identified as Kantilal Gosavi (42), Jaswant Gosavi (35), and the driver of the car. All three have been detained, and an FIR is being registered against them, as confirmed by SP Dhivre. This incident highlights the severe consequences of familial disputes and the critical role of community cooperation in law enforcement efforts.
