Ranchi: Three minor boys were rescued from platform number 1 at the Lohardaga railway station on Sunday, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) said in a statement on Monday.
The boys, aged between 10 and 11 years, are residents of McCluskieganj police station limits of Ranchi district. They had left home without informing their parents, it added.
RPF personnel found the boys sitting on the platform in suspicious circumstances during their routine inspection of the railway station. During questioning, the boys revealed their names and addresses. The victims were handed over to the Childline after due legal process.
RPF carries out ‘Operation Nanhe Farishte’ at the railway stations to rescue minor children. On February 27, it rescued four minors — three girls and a boy — who had fled from their home in Narkopi in Ranchi district.
The RPF continues its efforts to ensure the safety of children at railway stations across the region.
