Three Pune Youths Perish in Tragic Highway Accident in Gujarat
In a devastating early morning incident, three young men from Pune lost their lives when their sports utility vehicle (SUV) crashed on the Indore-Ahmedabad highway near Dahod in eastern Gujarat. The fatal accident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, around 3 am, near Dhadhela village in Limkheda taluka.
Details of the Catastrophic Collision
The SUV, which was suspected to be traveling at an extremely high speed, first hit a median on the highway before veering off the road. It then collided with an electricity pole with such tremendous force that the car's engine was dislodged and thrown several meters ahead of the vehicle. The impact was described as severe and catastrophic by investigating officials.
Two of the occupants were declared dead at the scene by paramedics who arrived promptly. They were identified as Abhishek Yadav, aged 26, and Sachin Biradar, aged 27. The third victim, Tejas Dagde, also 26, was initially rushed to a medical facility in Limkheda for emergency treatment. He was later referred to a hospital in Dahod, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigation and Background of the Victims
Inspector B K Chavda provided crucial insights into the circumstances leading up to the tragic event. According to his statement, the deceased had embarked on a journey from Pune to Odisha. After completing their visit there, they traveled to Ujjain, where they paid their respects at the renowned Mahakaal temple.
The ill-fated trip was en route from Ujjain to Somnath when the accident occurred. Inspector Chavda emphasized that the extensive damage to both the electricity pole and the vehicle clearly indicated the SUV was moving at an alarmingly high speed at the time of the crash.
This tragic incident underscores the critical importance of road safety and adherence to speed limits, especially during long-distance travel on highways. The loss of three young lives has sent shockwaves through their communities and serves as a somber reminder of the consequences of reckless driving.
