Tirupati: Woman, paramour arrested for husband's murder after body found in reservoir
Tirupati: Wife, lover arrested for husband's murder

Police in Andhra Pradesh's Sri Sathya Sai district have cracked a chilling murder case, leading to the arrest of a woman who allegedly conspired with her paramour and two other men to kill her husband. The victim's body was discovered near the Marala reservoir earlier this year.

The Grisly Discovery and Police Investigation

The case came to light on August 8 when Vetti Pullappa, the village revenue officer of Marala, reported finding an unidentified body near the Marala reservoir in Bukkapatnam mandal. Following the complaint, the Bukkapatnam police registered a case and formed special teams to investigate the mysterious death.

The breakthrough came in early December. Police first apprehended two of the accused on December 4 near the highway at Reddipalli village in Nallamada mandal. The remaining two suspects were arrested the very next day, December 5, at Vankarakunta village.

Accused and Their Alleged Roles

The police have identified the four individuals in custody. They are Ramunolla Ganga Bhavani (33), her alleged paramour Derangula Gangadhara, also known as Vadde Gangadhari (45), Nisani Vishnu (29), and Chinna Narayanappagari Sudarshan (21).

According to District SP Satish Kumar, Ganga Bhavani had been involved in an illicit relationship with Gangadhara for nearly a decade. The relationship allegedly led to frequent disputes with her husband, Ramappa. Tired of the conflicts, she purportedly paid Gangadhara to arrange her husband's murder.

Gangadhara then enlisted the help of Vishnu, who subsequently brought Sudarshan into the deadly plot. From the accused, police recovered four mobile phones, an auto truck, a scooter, and a rug.

A Failed Attempt and the Fatal Night

The conspirators' first attempt to kill Ramappa on July 23 was unsuccessful. However, they did not give up. On the night of July 27, the plan was executed.

Vishnu and Sudarshan arrived at Ramappa's house on a scooter. With assistance from Ganga Bhavani, they attacked him with a brick and then strangled him, leading to his death. To dispose of the evidence, the perpetrators packed the body in a sack, loaded it into an auto truck, and dumped it into the Marala reservoir.

SP Satish Kumar also revealed that one of the accused, Nisani Vishnu, is already an accused in a separate murder case registered in 2023 at the Lingala police station.

The arrests have brought a measure of closure to a brutal crime that shocked the local community. The police investigation continues as they build a strong legal case against the accused.
