The police initially recorded a General Diary (GD) and forwarded it to the court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) in Alipore, 24 Parganas (South). Following a court order, an FIR was registered under sections 352 and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
