A two-year-old boy died under suspicious circumstances in the Kajlikheda area of Bhopal on Friday evening. The child was rushed to a private hospital by the landlord’s son after being found unconscious, where doctors declared him brought dead. Police have registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem. The exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report is received, said officials.

According to police, the toddler, identified as Ayush, lived with his mother Preeti and two elder siblings in Gehunkheda under Kajlikheda police station limits. Preeti, whose husband had abandoned the family, works at a scrap shop to support her three children.
Police stated that Preeti had left for work on Friday morning. Ayush had reportedly been suffering from fever. Around 5 pm, his 10-year-old brother brought him downstairs and informed a neighbor that the child was not responding or speaking.
The landlord noticed that Ayush was unconscious and immediately asked his son to take the child to a nearby private hospital. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Police said no visible injury marks were found on the child. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
