Trade Leader Arrested After Ruckus at Rohtak Municipal Corporation Office

In a significant development in Rohtak, local trade leader Satish Prajapati has been arrested by the Arya Nagar police for allegedly creating a disturbance at the Municipal Corporation (MC) office. The arrest follows an incident on March 20, where Prajapati and his supporters are accused of entering the MC premises, disrupting official work, and using abusive language against staff members.

Protest and Allegations of Corruption

The situation escalated when Prajapati, along with a group of supporters including women, staged a protest outside the Arya Nagar police station. During the demonstration, they leveled serious accusations of corruption against both the MC officials and the police personnel. Prajapati had previously alleged misconduct within the Municipal Corporation, prompting the police to serve him a notice to appear with evidence. However, he failed to comply and instead organized the protest, leading to his detention.

Legal Action and Police Response

An FIR has been registered under Sections 132, 221, and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in connection with the March 20 incident. According to the complaint filed by the MC, Prajapati and his associates not only obstructed government work but also engaged in behavior that violated public order. In response to the protest, police detained over 15 individuals, with Prajapati being formally arrested based on the MC's complaint. The authorities have emphasized their commitment to maintaining law and order while investigating the corruption allegations raised by the trade leader.
