Noida Traffic Police Issue Advisory for Expressway Diversions During HCL-Foxconn Event

In preparation for a high-profile foundation ceremony, the Noida traffic police have issued a detailed advisory announcing significant traffic diversions on the Noida Expressway and Yamuna Expressway this Saturday. The event marks the groundbreaking of the HCL-Foxconn semiconductor manufacturing unit in YEIDA Sector 28, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union IT and Electronics Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw scheduled to attend in person. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate virtually, adding to the security and logistical considerations for the day.

VIP Movement to Impact Traffic Flow

DCP (Traffic) Manisha Singh highlighted that traffic movement on both expressways may be briefly disrupted during VIP convoys. "The entries to the expressways will be briefly closed before and after the passage of VIP convoys to ensure smooth movement and security," she stated. Officials are expected to travel from Delhi to Greater Noida via the DND Flyway, Noida Expressway, and Yamuna Expressway, with the programme scheduled between 2 PM and 6 PM.

Specific Diversion Plans for Commuters

To manage the anticipated congestion, traffic police have outlined specific diversion routes:

  • Noida Expressway: Traffic will be halted during VIP movement, with vehicles redirected through internal sector roads. Additionally, goods carriers will face restrictions on the DND Flyway, Chilla border, and Kalindi Kunj, being guided to use NH-9 and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway as alternatives.
  • Yamuna Expressway: Vehicles traveling from Agra towards Greater Noida will be stopped near the Jewar toll plaza and diverted towards Jewar Kasba and the Sabauta underpass, allowing access to Khurja and Sikandrabad. Similarly, vehicles moving from Pari Chowk towards Agra will be rerouted at the Alpha commercial market roundabout towards the Depot metro station, connecting to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
