Visakhapatnam Police Implement Traffic Restrictions for International Fleet Review Parade

The Visakhapatnam city police have officially announced a series of traffic restrictions along the Beach Road stretch to ensure the seamless execution of the International City Parade (ICP-2026). This major event is a key component of the International Fleet Review and is scheduled to take place at RK Beach on February 19.

Enhanced Security and VIP Arrangements

In preparation for the parade, security personnel have been strategically deployed from YMCA to Naval Coastal Battery. This heightened security measure is in response to the anticipated attendance of a large number of VIPs, underscoring the event's significance on the global stage.

Rehearsal Schedule and Initial Traffic Adjustments

Rehearsals for the ICP will commence on February 17, followed by a full-dress rehearsal on February 18. During these rehearsal days, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Beach Road towards the sea will be exclusively reserved for parade activities. Vehicles will be diverted at key junctions, including RK Beach NTR Circle and Park Hotel Junction. Police have advised visitors planning to access RK Beach to arrive after 6 p.m. to avoid disruptions.

Extensive Road Closures on Main Event Days

On February 18 and 19, more extensive road closures will be enforced from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Vehicles without official passes will not be permitted on several critical routes, such as from Collectorate Junction to Naval Coastal Battery, CR Reddy Circle via All India Radio Junction to NTR Statue, and Park Hotel Junction to NTR Statue Beach Road. These measures aim to facilitate the smooth flow of the parade and ensure public safety.

Parking Guidelines for General Motorists

For general motorists without passes who wish to witness the parade, designated parking locations have been established. Depending on their direction of travel, they must park at specified areas, including MGM Ground, Andhra University Samatha Hostel Ground, Zilla Parishad premises, and Andhra Medical College Cricket Ground. This organized parking system is designed to minimize congestion and enhance the overall experience for attendees.

The police urge all residents and visitors to plan their travel accordingly and adhere to the announced restrictions to support the successful conduct of this prestigious international event.
