Trailer Collision Sparks Major Fire on Accident-Prone Highway
A serious road accident involving a trailer and a goods autorickshaw resulted in a dramatic fire on the Ranchi-Ramgarh highway this Saturday. The incident occurred in the Chutupalu valley, an area notorious for its high accident rate, sending plumes of smoke into the air and causing significant disruption.
Details of the Highway Collision
The trailer was traveling from Ranchi to Ramgarh when it collided with a goods autorickshaw moving in the same direction. The impact was severe enough to cause the trailer to catch fire immediately. Local authorities, including police and a fire emergency team, were promptly alerted and rushed to the scene.
Parmeshwar Prasad, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Ramgarh, confirmed the sequence of events. He stated that the drivers of both vehicles sustained injuries in the crash. The trailer driver suffered injuries, while the driver of the goods autorickshaw was critically injured in the impact.
Emergency Response and Aftermath
Emergency services acted swiftly to control the blaze. A fire engine managed to extinguish the fire, preventing it from causing further damage. The injured drivers were quickly transported to Sadar Hospital in Ramgarh for initial medical attention.
Given the critical nature of his injuries, the goods autorickshaw driver was later referred to RIMS in Ranchi for advanced medical care and treatment. The police are investigating the exact cause of the collision on this dangerous stretch of highway, which has seen numerous accidents in the past.
