Trichy Couple, Relative Booked for Rs 25 Lakh Job Fraud

Trichy: The Fort police in Trichy have registered a cheating case against a couple and their relative for allegedly collecting Rs 25 lakh from a man under the false promise of securing a railway job for his son.

Details of the Case

According to police, G Shanmugam, a 60-year-old resident of EB Road, became acquainted with P Srinivasan in 2018. When Shanmugam sought assistance in finding employment for his son, Srinivasan allegedly assured him that he could arrange a position in the Indian Railways.

Trusting the promise, Shanmugam paid a total of Rs 25 lakh to Srinivasan in installments over several years. However, the promised job never materialized, and the money was not returned, police said.
