Domestic Help in Trichy Arrested for Stealing Gold Ornaments Worth Rs 2.7 Lakh

The accused, identified as N Anandhi, resides in Mela Pandamangalam, Woraiyur, and was working at the home of K Ragunath, a 43-year-old fuel station operator based in Ariyamangalam, on Salai Road in Trichy. According to police reports, the theft occurred between August and October of last year.

- On August 28, 2023, Ragunath's wife, Shanmugapriya, securely stored nine sovereigns of gold ornaments in a small pouch inside her locker. The collection comprised a pair of bangles, a necklace, and a pair of diamond earrings.
- When Shanmugapriya checked the locker on October 26, 2023, she discovered that the ornaments were missing, prompting immediate action.
Following a formal complaint filed by K Ragunath, the Woraiyur police registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation. During the probe, Anandhi emerged as a primary person of interest due to her access to the household.
