Trichy College Student Targeted in Violent Midnight Abduction and Robbery

In a shocking incident in Trichy, police have registered a case against a group of men for allegedly attempting to murder and rob a college student. The attack, which occurred late Wednesday night, has sent ripples through the local community, highlighting concerns over personal safety and violent crime in the area.

Dispute Over Relationship Sparks Violent Confrontation

According to police reports, the victim, identified as S Santhosh from Allithurai in Srirangam, was in a relationship with a girl. This relationship reportedly led to a dispute between Santhosh and an acquaintance named Lokesh. The tension escalated dramatically around midnight on Wednesday when Santhosh was standing on Butterworth Road with his two-wheeler.

At that time, Lokesh, accompanied by his friend Kaif and others, confronted Santhosh. The group verbally abused him and demanded money. When Santhosh refused to comply, the situation turned violent. The assailants abducted him at knifepoint, forcing him into his own vehicle.

Not content with the robbery, the group proceeded to assault Santhosh with a knife before releasing him. The brutal attack left Santhosh with severe injuries, particularly on his head.

Following the assault, Santhosh was admitted to Trichy Government Hospital for medical treatment. His condition is reported to be stable, but the incident has caused significant trauma.

Police Action and Legal Proceedings
