Palghar: A truck driver was arrested after driving recklessly and crashing into multiple vehicles in Saphale market area of Palghar district on Wednesday at 4.30 pm. According to police, the accused driver, Ranjit Kumar Mahto (30), a native of Bihar, was driving a cement-loaded truck in an intoxicated state. The collisions damaged the vehicles and caused panic in the crowded locality, narrowly avoiding a major tragedy.
Mahto allegedly attempted to flee and continued driving dangerously for nearly 1.5 km. Alert citizens and victims chased the truck and eventually managed to intercept it. A case has been registered under the BNS and Motor Vehicles Act.
