Twisha Sharma's Husband Withdraws Bail Plea, Arrested

Bhopal/Jabalpur: Samarth Singh, the absconding husband of Twisha Sharma, withdrew his application for anticipatory bail in the Madhya Pradesh high court on Friday. He sought liberty to surrender before the trial court in Bhopal and apply for regular bail. However, he was arrested by Bhopal police from the district court premises in Jabalpur in the evening and taken to Bhopal.

Court Proceedings

As the hearing on Samarth Singh's anticipatory bail application began before the vacation bench of Justice A K Singh, senior counsel appearing on his behalf requested permission to withdraw the application. The counsel sought liberty to surrender before the trial court and pursue a regular bail there.

Opposition from Solicitor General

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and Advocate General Prashant Singh, appearing via video-conferencing, vehemently opposed the demand. They argued that the bail application of an accused cannot be heard on the same day after surrendering in court. After hearing both sides, the bench allowed Singh to withdraw his plea.
