Bhopal: Two Road Accidents Damage Over Half a Dozen Cars, Multiple Injuries Reported
Two Accidents in Bhopal Damage Multiple Cars, Cause Injuries

Bhopal witnessed two separate road accidents over two consecutive days, resulting in significant damage to more than half a dozen vehicles. The incidents, which occurred on the busy Kolar Six-Lane Road and VIP Road in the Talaiya area, had contrasting outcomes in terms of injuries.

Head-On Collision on Kolar Road Leaves Family Injured

The first and more serious accident took place on Sunday morning on Kolar Six-Lane Road near Lalita Nagar. According to the Kolar police, an SUV travelling on the main road was struck head-on by another car that emerged from a colony road. The impact of the collision was severe.

The force of the crash completely mangled the bonnet of the car coming from the colony. The SUV, in turn, lost control and mounted the road divider. Police have registered a case in connection with this mishap.

Details of the Injured and the Journey

The complainant in the Kolar case has been identified as Vijay Gurjar, a 25-year-old resident of Bhura Khedi village in Rajgarh district. Gurjar, who runs an auto dealership in Sarangpur, had come to Bhopal with his neighbour Radheshyam Soni and Soni's family. The purpose of their visit was for Soni's daughter, who was appearing for a police constable examination in Kolar.

As their vehicle reached near a sweets shop in Lalita Nagar, the driver of the other car allegedly attempted to cross the main road without noticing their SUV, leading to the direct collision. The accident resulted in injuries to several occupants:

  • Radheshyam Soni sustained injuries to his hands and legs.
  • His wife suffered an injury to her left knee.
  • Anushree Soni received a waist injury.
  • Ashwin Soni suffered a jaw injury.
  • Vijay Gurjar sustained chest injuries after hitting the steering wheel.

All the injured were rushed to a hospital via auto-rickshaw for immediate medical treatment.

Chain Collision on VIP Road Damages Cars

In a separate incident reported on Monday on VIP Road in the Talaiya area, a different scenario unfolded. Here, a car driver allegedly applied sudden brakes, triggering a chain reaction collision. Nearly half a dozen vehicles coming from behind were involved in the pile-up.

The consecutive crashes resulted in damage to the front and rear portions of multiple cars. However, no injuries were reported in this particular incident. The police treated it as a minor mishap and did not register a formal case.

Police Action and Aftermath

While the VIP Road incident was settled on the spot due to its minor nature, the Kolar accident saw further legal action initiated by the police. The contrasting response underscores the severity of the first accident, which involved serious injuries.

These back-to-back incidents on prominent Bhopal roads have once again brought the focus on road safety, driver awareness, and the perils of sudden manoeuvres on high-speed lanes. They serve as a stark reminder for motorists to exercise extreme caution, especially at intersections and when merging into fast-moving traffic.
