Two Men Arrested for Brutal Beheading of Delhi Woman in Bulandshahr Forest

In a shocking crime, two men were arrested on Monday for allegedly beheading a Delhi-based woman and disposing of her body near a canal in a forested area of Bulandshahr's Narsena village. The victim, identified as Babli Devi, 38, from Kalyanpuri in East Delhi, was found decapitated, with her decomposed torso discovered in Ghunghrawali village on March 15.

Investigation Breakthrough and Arrests

Police made a breakthrough when Babli's family in Delhi—her mother, daughter, and brother-in-law—recognized her photo shared by authorities on social media and approached the police on March 22, confirming her identity. This led to the arrest of the prime accused, Vikas Kumar, 32, a native of Bulandshahr, who was Babli's lover and had lived with her in Delhi for about three years. Another suspect, Aman Kumar, was also apprehended, while efforts are ongoing to nab a third accomplice, Sachin.

Relationship and Motive Behind the Crime

According to Bulandshahr SP city, Shanker Prasad, Vikas Kumar had previously worked with Babli's late husband at a private hospital in Delhi and was known to the family. After her husband's death from cancer two-and-a-half years ago, Vikas and Babli developed a relationship and cohabited in Delhi. However, their relationship deteriorated when Vikas decided to marry someone else in December 2025, and Babli allegedly pressured him to stay with her.

On March 15, Vikas lured Babli to his village in Bulandshahr on a motorcycle. There, he met with his cousin Sachin and friend Aman Kumar, consumed alcohol, and together they attacked Babli in a forested stretch. They grabbed her limbs, decapitated her with a sharp weapon, and threw her head approximately 500 meters away in an attempt to conceal her identity.

Aftermath and Police Action

Following the horrific act, Vikas attended a family function in his village and later returned to Muradnagar, Ghaziabad, where he had moved after his marriage. In a bid to mislead investigators, he even filed a missing person complaint. Through surveillance, police established Vikas's presence near the crime scene and arrested him in Muradnagar, while Aman was picked up from Bulandshahr.

The weapon used in the murder, along with illegal firearms and the motorcycle involved, were recovered by authorities. An FIR has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections for murder and disappearance of evidence. Both Vikas and Aman have confessed to the crime, and police are intensifying efforts to apprehend the remaining suspect, Sachin.

Babli Devi is survived by three daughters, who currently reside with their grandmother. With no immediate clues initially, police conducted her last rites on March 18 before the investigation progressed with the family's identification and subsequent arrests.
