Panagarh: In a significant security-related incident, two individuals were arrested on Thursday for allegedly installing a CCTV camera near the boundary of an airbase in Panagarh, located in the West Burdwan district of West Bengal. The arrested persons have been identified as Munna Pandit, a garage owner, and Sandip Dubey, a CCTV technician. Both were subjected to extensive questioning throughout the night following their apprehension.
Details of the Arrest
The duo was taken into custody after local authorities received a tip-off regarding suspicious activity near the airbase perimeter. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a CCTV camera had been covertly installed close to the boundary wall of the sensitive installation. The camera was promptly removed and seized as evidence.
Police Remand
Following their arrest, both Munna Pandit and Sandip Dubey were produced before a local court, which subsequently remanded them to five days of police custody. During this period, law enforcement officials will conduct further interrogations to ascertain the motive behind the installation and whether any external elements were involved.
