In a targeted operation in Sajipamooda village of Bantwal taluk, Bantwal Town police apprehended two individuals on charges of alleged illegal cattle slaughter. Acting on a tip-off received on Wednesday night regarding unlawful slaughter activities, Police Sub-Inspector Sandeep Kumar Shetty led a team to raid a location in Panjaje.
Details of the Raid
During the inspection, the police discovered meat being cut in a shed situated behind a house. The team immediately conducted a raid and detained two suspects, identified as Mustafa, 33, and Mohammed Sadiq, 30, both residents of Bantwal. Upon questioning, it was confirmed that the accused were allegedly carrying out the activity without obtaining the necessary license or permission from the authorities.
Seizures and Legal Action
Police reported that one animal had already been slaughtered, and meat was found cut and stored at the site. In addition to the meat, six heads of cattle, a car, and equipment used for the illegal activity were seized from the spot. The accused have been taken into custody, and a case has been registered at Bantwal Town police station for further investigation.
