In a swift operation, Baharia police on Tuesday apprehended two individuals identified as Arvind Kumar Patel alias Sonu (21) and Monu Patel (22), both residents of Chaki Dhamaur, on charges of kidnapping a woman. The arrests were made near the Babuganj canal road while the duo was reportedly planning to escape.
Incident Details
According to police sources, a woman filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the two miscreants on June 14. In her complaint, she alleged that the accused forcibly took her into their car near Mansurpur crossing. However, when she started raising her voice, they left her after some time.
Legal Action
The police have booked both accused under sections 87 and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Section 87 deals with kidnapping, while section 351(3) pertains to criminal intimidation. The investigation is ongoing to uncover any further details about the incident.
