Daltonganj: Two persons were arrested for allegedly murdering a 23-year-old man in Palamu district, police said on Monday.
Sequence of Events
Mojahid, a resident of Semra village, went missing on May 27. His family informed the police the next day. Following a search by police and locals, his body was found on May 30 at Van Pahar. His father Abdul Kalam lodged an FIR on the same day.
Investigation and Arrests
According to police, a one-year-old enmity originating in Raipur culminated in a brutal murder under Chainpur police station area. Palamu SP Kapil Chaudhary constituted a special investigation team led by DSP Rajesh Yadav. “Call details of the deceased referred to one Amit, 23. His movement with one more person was also found on CCTV camera footage,” said Yadav.
Amit was arrested, followed by Tasleem, 23. All three were AC mechanics. “During questioning, Tasleem and Amit said they stoned Mojahid to death,” Yadav said.
Motive
He added, “Mojahid had once attacked Tasleem with a scissor in Raipur over playing of loud music. Since then, bad blood persisted between them.”
Police said that they have recovered the stone, blood-stained clothes, mobile phones and two bikes.
