Pune: The Chakan North police on Sunday arrested two men on charges of assaulting and robbing a 27-year-old man of his cash amounting to Rs 6,000. The robbery took place on Saturday when the victim was returning home on his scooter. According to police, the complainant sustained severe facial injuries during the incident.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Rohan Ghogare (35) and Vivek Kurhade (24), both residents of Chakan. They have been booked under Section 309 (robbery) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Incident Account
An officer from the Chakan police station stated that on Saturday evening, the complainant was driving his moped towards his residence when the duo intercepted him. They attacked him with a stick and punched him repeatedly in the face. The assailants then robbed Rs 6,000 from his wallet before fleeing the scene.
Police Action
Upon receiving the complaint, the police team promptly launched an investigation and apprehended the suspects. The officer confirmed that the probe is ongoing. Authorities are also examining if the duo has been involved in similar crimes in the area.
