Details of the Accused and the Crime

The arrested individuals have been identified as Shailendra Ahirwar and Thakur Das, both residents of Nimoni village under the jurisdiction of the Uldan police station. According to official reports, the victim, a Class-XII student, went missing on April 2 after leaving for her coaching class and never returned home.

Her body was discovered on April 7, floating in a well located on the outskirts of the village. This tragic discovery prompted the formation of multiple police teams dedicated to tracking down the perpetrators. Investigations revealed that the two accused, aged 28 years, allegedly kidnapped, raped, and subsequently murdered the teenage girl.

The Encounter and Arrest Operation

SP City Preeti Singh provided insights into the operation, stating that police had identified the suspects through extensive surveillance and assistance from informers. Acting on a specific tip-off regarding their presence outside the village on Saturday night, authorities initiated a vehicle checking drive.

During this operation, police intercepted a motorcycle past midnight. The situation escalated when the accused opened fire on the officers. In the ensuing retaliatory firing, both suspects sustained injuries to their legs and were immediately transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Confession and Case Resolution

Following their arrest and medical care, the accused reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime. They admitted to raping and killing the girl before disposing of her body in the well. This confession has provided crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation, bringing a measure of closure to the case that has shocked the local community.
