Ajmer: Tension prevailed in Pushkar on Friday morning after two bodies were discovered floating in Pushkar Lake. According to officials, priests conducting morning prayers at the lake spotted the bodies and promptly alerted the police.
Recovery and Initial Response
A police team arrived at the scene around 6 am and recovered the bodies. They were subsequently sent to JLN Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Preliminary Findings
Initial investigation suggests that the deceased are a man and a woman, estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old. Police believe the bodies had been in the water for two to three days.
While no identification documents were found on the man, an Aadhaar card was recovered from the woman’s clothing. Authorities are working to establish the identities of both individuals.
Ongoing Investigation
Police teams have been visiting hotels and guesthouses in Pushkar to check if any guests have been reported missing in recent days.
Pushkar SHO Vikram Singh Rathore stated that the bodies have been kept in the mortuary and that all possible angles are being investigated. “Our immediate priority is to establish the identities of the deceased, which will help move the investigation forward. We are also awaiting the post-mortem report,” he said.
