Two brothers arrested for stabbing man to death in Delhi

In a swift operation, the Delhi Police has arrested two brothers for the alleged murder of a 33-year-old man in Northeast Delhi's Shastri Park area. The fatal stabbing occurred late on Wednesday night, leading to an intensive investigation and multiple raids by the police team.

Midnight Alert and Victim Identification

The police action was triggered by a call from the JPC Hospital to the Shastri Park Police Station around midnight on Wednesday. The hospital informed them about a man admitted with serious stab wounds. The victim, identified as 33-year-old Wasim, a resident of Buland Masjid in Shastri Park, was declared 'brought dead' by the attending doctors upon arrival.

Following the protocol, officials from the Shastri Park Police Station immediately registered a case under relevant legal sections. Forensic science teams were dispatched to the crime scene to collect crucial physical evidence that could help piece together the sequence of events.

Investigation and Arrest of the Accused

A special team, led by Inspector Manjeet Tomar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Shastri Park, took charge of the investigation. Their initial probe revealed that the attack took place near the loop behind the DDA Park in Shastri Park. Through technical surveillance and local intelligence, the police zeroed in on two suspects.

The accused were identified as brothers Shakir (26) and Islam, also known as Border (22). Both are residents of the same locality, Buland Masjid in Shastri Park. The police conducted several raids across likely hideouts before successfully apprehending the siblings.

Confession and Recovery of Weapon

During sustained interrogation, the two brothers broke down and confessed to their involvement in the crime. They disclosed to the investigators that they had an ongoing prior dispute with the deceased, Wasim, which allegedly culminated in the violent confrontation. Acting on the information provided by the arrested duo, the police team recovered the knife believed to be the murder weapon.

The Delhi Police has stated that the investigation is still ongoing to uncover any further motives or potential accomplices. The case highlights the prompt response of the police force in solving a serious crime in the national capital.
