Two Crushed Between Tractor and Truck on Highway

In a tragic incident on the Bhopal-Indore highway, two men were crushed to death between a tractor and a stranded truck while removing a towing rope after helping pull the vehicle out of mud. The accident occurred late Sunday night near Balaji Rajasthan Dhaba under Khajuri police station limits. Two others sustained injuries in the crash. Khajuri police registered a case on Monday and initiated an investigation.

Details of the Incident

According to police, complainant Jitendra Ahirwar, 34, a resident of Nandni village, was returning from Dewas with tractor driver Mukesh Ahirwar after completing soil-testing work. The duo was traveling with a tractor-mounted mini boring machine owned by Jivan Malviya. Around 11:30 pm, near Balaji Rajasthan Dhaba, they were approached by the driver of a truck that had become stuck in mud. Jitendra and Mukesh detached the boring machine from the tractor and, with the help of dhaba employee Narendra Kumar, arranged a towing rope to pull the stranded vehicle back onto the road.

Fatal Sequence of Events

Police reported that after successfully towing the vehicle, Mukesh Ahirwar and truck driver Jivan Bagri, a resident of Shajapur, were standing between the tractor and the truck, removing the towing rope, when a speeding truck coming from the Indore side rammed into the parked vehicles. The impact crushed Mukesh and Jivan between the tractor and the truck, killing both instantly. Jitendra, who was seated on the tractor, was thrown off and suffered injuries to his ribs and right leg. Narendra Kumar also sustained injuries to his hand.
