The crash took place near the Kulgo area when a speeding truck, traveling from Bagodar, violently rammed into two stationary trucks parked alongside the road. The impact was so severe that it instantly triggered a blaze, which rapidly engulfed all three vehicles. According to police reports, the stationary trucks were carrying commercial goods, including coal and jaggery, which may have contributed to the intensity of the fire.
At the time of the collision, the drivers and helpers of the parked trucks were resting inside their cabins, unaware of the impending disaster. The sudden inferno trapped them, leading to a frantic rescue effort by local authorities.

Upon receiving information about the incident, fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the scene. Teams from the Dumri police station, led by senior officials such as Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sumit Kumar, worked tirelessly for several hours to extinguish the flames. In the aftermath, two bodies were recovered from one of the trucks. SDPO Sumit Kumar stated, "Two bodies were recovered from one truck and are believed to be of the driver and his helper. Rajendra Kumar Mahto, an inspector at the Dumri police station, provided insights into the preliminary investigation.
