Hyderabad: Two people died and one person was injured after a two-wheeler allegedly rammed into a bicycle near Hanuman Temple at Nanakramguda in Gachibowli on Sunday morning.
According to Gachibowli inspector K Balaraju, the deceased, Samim Khan, 52, an electrician from Gopanpally Thanda, was going on a cycle near Rotary Circle around 8 am when a two-wheeler allegedly hit his bicycle from behind. The impact left him with grievous head injuries and multiple wounds. He was shifted to a private hospital in a 108 ambulance, where he died while undergoing treatment.
Police identified the motorcycle rider as Arun, 22, a resident of Nanakramguda. After colliding with the bicycle, he allegedly lost control of the vehicle, crashed into a roadside wall and fell.
The pillion rider, Indrasena Reddy, 25, a native of Kamareddy, suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot, while Arun sustained injuries.
Eyewitnesses, including the priest of the nearby Hanuman Temple and local residents witnessed the accident, police said.
Based on a complaint lodged by Samim’s nephew, Md Sabbir Khan, Gachibowli police registered a case against the two-wheeler rider for rash and negligent driving causing grievous injuries and death. Further investigation into the incident is underway. The bodies of the deceased were moved to Osmania mortuary for postmortem.
