Separate Tragedy Strikes Uttar Pradesh Highway Amid Dense Fog

In a separate and tragic incident, dense fog led to a deadly head-on collision on Sunday. A bus crashed into a car on the Raebareli–Sultanpur highway near Babu Ganj. Police confirmed this accident claimed two lives and left ten other individuals injured.

Authorities stated that extremely poor visibility, caused by thick fog, was the primary reason for the collision. The victims who died at the scene were identified as Deepak Singh, a 45-year-old man from Anni Baijal in Gauriganj, and Rituraj Yadav, a 35-year-old resident of Kaushambi. Both men were traveling inside the car during the impact.

Emergency services rushed the injured passengers to the district hospital located in Gauriganj. Medical officials reported that four of those admitted are in critical condition, fighting serious injuries.

Shyam Narayan Pandey, the Station House Officer of Gauriganj police station, provided details on the situation. "Four of the injured have suffered serious injuries, while the others sustained minor wounds," Pandey said. He added that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination and that a full investigation into the crash is currently underway.

These back-to-back accidents highlight the severe dangers on Indian roads, particularly during winter conditions when fog drastically reduces visibility for drivers.
