Tragic Motorcycle Accident Claims Two Lives in Chatra
In a devastating incident early on Saturday, two young men lost their lives, and another was left critically injured when their motorcycle was struck by an unidentified vehicle on Hazaribag Road. The victims, identified as Mithilesh Bhuiyan, Pankaj Bhuiyan, and Neeraj Kumar Bhuiyan, all aged 23 years, were returning to their homes in Silad and Duna villages from a friend's wedding located approximately 20 kilometres away. Around 1:30 am, near Karni village, their bike was hit by a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. The impact of the collision was severe, throwing all three riders off the motorcycle. It remains unclear whether they were wearing helmets at the time of the accident, raising concerns about road safety measures.
Mithilesh Bhuiyan was killed instantly at the scene, while Pankaj Bhuiyan succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital. Neeraj Kumar Bhuiyan was rushed to Sheikh Bhikari Medical College and Hospital, where he is currently admitted in a critical condition, fighting for his life.

Abhishek Kumar Singh, the officer-in-charge of Itkhori police station, confirmed the details of the tragic event. He stated that the bodies of Mithilesh and Pankaj were handed over to their families after a postmortem examination conducted at Chatra sadar hospital. "It appears to be a case of a road accident caused by an unidentified vehicle. We are talking to the locals and trying to identify the vehicle involved," Singh explained, highlighting the ongoing efforts to piece together the circumstances of the crash.
As of late evening, no First Information Report (FIR) had been registered in connection with the accident, indicating that the investigation is still in its preliminary stages. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in identifying the responsible vehicle and driver.
