Two Women Dead, Three Injured in Ghazipur Car-Truck Collision
A devastating road accident near the Ghazipur toll plaza in East Delhi has claimed the lives of two women and left three others injured, including two young children. The incident occurred early Wednesday morning on National Highway 9, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety in the region.
Details of the Fatal Collision
According to the Delhi Police, the accident took place at approximately 6:43 AM when a Kia Seltos car collided with a container truck near the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) toll plaza. The police received a control room call alerting them to the crash, prompting an immediate response from the Ghazipur police station. Officers rushed to the spot near the Vinod Nagar Depot, where they found the car severely damaged from the impact.
The police reported that the car was traveling from the Ghaziabad side when the collision occurred. Upon arrival, two women were discovered deceased at the scene. They have been identified as Deepanjali, 38, and Neelam Garg, 55. Tragically, one victim was found lying outside the vehicle, while the other was trapped in the front left passenger seat, indicating the force of the crash.
Injuries and Emergency Response
In addition to the fatalities, three individuals sustained injuries in the accident. The driver of the car, Deepanshu Garg, along with two minor passengers—Vivan, 5, and Vashu, 3—were rushed to Max Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Their conditions are currently under observation as they undergo care for injuries sustained in the collision.
Emergency services, including a crime team, were dispatched to conduct a thorough inspection of the accident site. The bodies of the deceased women were transported to the Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) mortuary for post-mortem examinations to determine the exact causes of death.
