Bokaro: Fire Breaks Out in BSL LH Colony, Two Injured

Two people sustained serious burn injuries after a fire broke out at a house in BSL’s LH Colony under the City police station area on Saturday night. The injured have been identified as Mahboob Alam and Bhana Jha. Police said they were rushed to Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) soon after the incident and are currently undergoing treatment.

According to DSP City Rajeev Ranjan, “Preliminary information suggests that kerosene stored inside the house caught fire. Upon receiving the alert, police personnel and firefighters reached the spot and launched a rescue and firefighting operation. The fire was brought under control after coordinated efforts by the emergency response teams, preventing it from spreading to nearby houses.”

Authorities said the situation is now under control and there is no immediate threat to residents in the area. Local residents claimed that diesel and petrol were also stored inside the house. However, officials have not confirmed these reports and said the investigation is still in its early stages.

Police have initiated a probe to ascertain the cause of the fire. The injured are receiving medical care at Bokaro General Hospital, and their condition is reported to be stable. The firefighting operation involved multiple teams working together to extinguish the flames and ensure the safety of surrounding structures.
