In a targeted operation against crime and illegal arms, the Kotwali police in Etawah apprehended two juvenile offenders during a special checking drive. The police seized a .32 bore illegal revolver, two live cartridges, and a motorcycle from their possession.
Details of the Operation
According to Kotwali Station House Officer (SHO) Yashwant Singh, the juveniles were caught during a routine checking drive aimed at suspicious persons and vehicles in the Kotwali area. During a thorough search, the police recovered the illegal .32 bore revolver along with two live cartridges from the juveniles.
Legal Proceedings Initiated
Following the interrogation, the police initiated legal proceedings against the two juveniles. Upon verification of the motorcycle's documents, irregularities were found, leading to the seizure of the vehicle under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
A case has been registered at the Kotwali police station under Sections 3, 9, and 25 of the Arms Act. The police are now investigating the source of the illegal weapon and determining whether it was intended for use in any criminal activity.
Further Investigation Underway
Officials stated that efforts are underway to ascertain the criminal background of the juveniles, identify their associates, and explore possible links to other offences. The police are committed to cracking down on illegal arms and ensuring public safety.
