Two Killed, One Critically Injured in Gopalganj Tractor Accident
A tragic road accident in Gopalganj district has claimed two lives and left one person in critical condition. The incident occurred late Saturday evening in the Shyampur Bazar area under the jurisdiction of Uchkagaon police station.
Details of the Fatal Collision
According to police reports, the accident involved a speeding tractor that collided with two motorcycles near a fuel station at Shyampur Bazar. The tractor was traveling from the opposite direction when it rammed into both bikes with tremendous force.
The impact was so severe that all three riders were thrown onto the road. Nasir Alam, 28, who was riding one motorcycle with another person, died on the spot from his injuries. The other victim, Sujeet Kumar Pandey, who was riding the second motorcycle, succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Model Hospital in Gopalganj.
Emergency Response and Investigation
The Dial 112 emergency team responded quickly to the scene and transported the injured to medical facilities. The third injured person, whose identity has not been disclosed, was in critical condition and was referred to Gorakhpur for specialized treatment.
Uchkagaon assistant sub-inspector Ashiq Rasool Khan provided details about the police investigation: "After the accident, the tractor driver fled the spot, leaving the tractor behind. The tractor has been seized and raids are on to nab the fleeing driver."
Aftermath and Legal Proceedings
The bodies of both deceased victims were taken to the sadar hospital for post-mortem examination before being handed over to their respective family members. Police have intensified their search operations to locate and apprehend the tractor driver who abandoned his vehicle at the accident site.
