Two Killed, Three Injured in Horrific Truck-Car Collision on Udaipur Highway
A tragic accident on the Gogunda-Pindwara National Highway near Malwa Chauraha in Udaipur resulted in two fatalities and three serious injuries on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred when a speeding truck violently rammed into a car from behind, causing immediate chaos and a severe traffic disruption.
Details of the Fatal Crash
The deceased have been identified as Daya Bhatt (55) and Pushpraj (32), both occupants of the car. In a heartbreaking turn, a 10-year-old child traveling in the same vehicle sustained critical injuries. The truck driver was also seriously hurt in the initial impact.
The situation escalated further when a speeding trailer, approaching from behind the truck, lost control and overturned at the scene. This secondary accident left the trailer driver in a critical condition, compounding the emergency response efforts.
Emergency Response and Aftermath
Upon receiving the alert, the highway patrolling team and personnel from Bekariya police station rushed to the location. They promptly transported all injured individuals to MB Hospital for urgent medical care. The bodies of the victims, who were tragically trapped inside the mangled car, were carefully extricated and sent to the mortuary at Malwa Chauraha Hospital.
Bekariya Station House Officer Uttam Singh Medatiya provided crucial details, confirming that the deceased were car occupants. The injured child, part of a family from Jodhpur, is currently undergoing treatment. The family was en route from Udaipur to Jodhpur via Pindwara when the disaster struck.
Traffic Restoration and Investigation
The accident triggered significant chaos, leading to a massive traffic jam on the busy highway. Authorities worked diligently to clear the wreckage, using a crane to remove the damaged vehicles. Traffic flow was eventually restored after these efforts.
Officer Medatiya added that both the truck and trailer drivers were injured and admitted to the hospital. The families of the victims have been informed of the tragic incident as investigations into the cause of the crash continue.
