Jind: Two youths were killed and four others sustained injuries after a vehicle carrying members of a wedding party met with an accident on the Delhi–Patiala national highway near Baroda village in Jind district late Wednesday night.
Accident Details
According to police, an Ertiga carrying nine youths was traveling from Chhattar village to Baroda village as part of a wedding procession when the driver allegedly lost control following a tyre burst. The vehicle subsequently rammed into pipes stacked along the roadside.
Injuries and Medical Response
The injured individuals were rushed to the civil hospital in Uchana. Some were later transferred to a private hospital in Hisar for further medical treatment.
Victims Identified
The deceased were identified as Akunsh, a resident of Chhattar village, and Deepak, a resident of Karsindhu village in Uchana Kalan area. Four other occupants sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment.
Police Investigation
SHO Chandrapal stated that police received information about the accident during the night and immediately arrived at the scene. Preliminary investigation suggests that the driver lost control after a tyre burst, leading to the crash. Two occupants were taken to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead. Further investigation is underway.
Police have initiated proceedings and are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.
