In a significant development in the murder case of a 22-year-old BTech student in Dehradun, police have arrested two more accused from Purulia, West Bengal. The two accused, identified as Prahlad Raj Singh and Ankur Singh, both residents of Bihar, were hiding at a resort in Purulia before being nabbed by a police team. According to authorities, they were accomplices of four other accused who had been arrested earlier and are currently lodged in jail.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pramendra Dobal stated that police had announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on each of them for their alleged involvement in the murder. The victim, Divyanshu Jatrana, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, was studying at a private university in Premnagar and was killed in the incident on March 23.

Police Action and Investigation

Acting on a tip-off about the whereabouts of the accused in West Bengal, a police team conducted a raid at the resort and apprehended Prahlad Raj Singh and Ankur Singh. They were then brought to Dehradun on transit remand on Thursday and produced before a local court the same day before being sent to jail.

SSP Dobal emphasized the ongoing efforts to ensure justice in the case, highlighting the collaborative work between police forces across states. The murder, which stemmed from an old rivalry between student groups, has drawn significant attention, with authorities working diligently to apprehend all involved parties.
